Description

Under direct supervision of the Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant assists with routine administrative tasks related to the marketing of up to 130 new books and a back list of more than 3,000 books. This role also aides the Marketing Director and marketing team with a variety of tasks aimed at increasing the efficiency of the marketing team in general.

This role is important to the Press because it provides administrative assistance to a dynamic and effective marketing team ensuring efficiency and productivity at all times. The role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: working with the Marketing Director to contact authors with requests for information; inputting data into the Press’s system-wide database; assisting the Publicity Manager with tasks such as author and media outreach, media database maintenance, and publicity related administrative tasks; coordinating with other departments; and helping with the marketing plans for new and back list books.

Required Qualifications: .

Formal training beyond a high school diploma of one to two years, two years of college coursework, or Associate’s degree, six months to one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient with standard office software and applications. Familiarity with database software (preferably FileMaker Pro). High attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet the demands of many individuals.
