Social Media Coordinator

Description

Under direct supervision of the Marketing Director, the Social Media Coordinator helps with the marketing of up to 130 new books and a back list of more than 3,000 books. This position helps to communicate the Press’s brand, mission, and message through various social media presences.

This role is important to the Press because of the ability to reach many thousands of people through social media efforts. The role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: the Press’s Twitter, Facebook , and Instagram accounts; the Sage House Blog; staying up to date with social media trends and advances; contacting authors and others with requests for information; inputting data into the Press’s system-wide database; coordinating with other departments; and helping with the marketing plans for new and back list books.

Required Qualifications:

Formal training beyond a HS Diploma of 1 to two 2 years, two years of college coursework, or Associate’s degree or equivalent; 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient with standard office software and applications. High attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet the demands of many individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree with 1-2 years office experience. 

Experience of publishing industry.

Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and expectations

Familiarity with database software (preferably FileMaker Pro).
