Editorial and Marketing Assistant


The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Editorial and Marketing Assistant. This position provides direct support to the Director of the University of Nevada Press by assisting with and coordinating various aspects of the acquisitions, editorial, marketing and business process. Tasks include working directly with authors to coordinate the final submission of approved manuscripts and transmitting projects to production, entering metadata, and proofreading; working with the marketing department on social media, including overall publicity for the Press as well as targeted campaigns for each individual title; and researching review outlets, course adoption, and bulk purchase opportunities.

The University of Nevada, Reno, the land-grant University and major research institution in the state, has a student body of approximately 21,000. The University is situated in Reno, a metropolitan area of 350,000, on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The city is conveniently located 38 miles from Lake Tahoe, a world-class skiing area with limitless summer and winter recreational opportunities. Sacramento and San Francisco are, respectively, two and four hour drives away. The Press publishes approximately 20 new titles a year in a variety of academic disciplines. We also publish select fiction and memoir. Founded in 1961 the Press has more than 400 titles in print.
