Job Description

The University of Massachusetts Press, a well-established and award winning book publisher, is seeking a collaborative, resourceful, and knowledgeable marketing manager to develop and execute the marketing strategy for the Press’s scholarly and trade publishing program. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail and deadlines, and a keen understanding of scholarly publishing.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Marketing, or related field with 5 years of publishing experience, or a Master’s degree in the same with 2 years of publishing experience (preferred).

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to design and implement a coordinated program to promote and publicize scholarly and trade titles.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple ongoing projects.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Drupal-based websites, FileMaker database, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
