Designs electronic and printed materials, exhibit elements, and/or illustrations for a variety of National Academies’ publications, displays, and other media. Meets with teams and individuals to plan projects, methods, and strategies. Completes assignments that are complex in nature and require creativity in their execution.
Working under general supervision, incumbent works within general style and format guidelines and typically has considerable discretion over individual page design and layout. Incumbent proceeds on own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures, and practices, but receives guidance or expertise from manager or Art Director when needed. May lead and provide work guidance to lower level support employees.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge or experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator on Macintosh and/or PC platforms. Knowledge or experience in HTML, and CSS. Knowledge of both web design and the printing process.
