#LookItUP and #ReadUP

We use the hashtag #ReadUP to communicate the core of our mission: communicating valuable scholarship and writing on any topic you can imagine. (It's pronounced "Read up" to encomapass the entire AAUP community‚ not just U.P.'s!) In 2017, we're promoting the hashtag #LookItUP to highlight our theme of "Knowledge Matters" and to demonstrate the UP community's contributions to facts and expertise.

Bookstores and Book Festivals

Reach out to independent and local bookstores to promote UP Week. The American Booksellers Association developed a UP-driven Indies First campaign, and more than 30 Association members are participating. The Task Force arranged panels at the Texas Book Festival and Boston Book Festival.

Testimonials

We periodically collect testimonials on the importance of university presses and mission-driven publishers from scholars, authors, booksellers, policy makers, and university leadership.

A wide collection of further testimonials from writers, scholars, and public figures can be read here and here. These words of support and celebration are useful reminders of the range and passion of our audiences, the depths of the needs and the breadth of the communities that our mission serves.

Influence Maps

First used in 2012, Press Influence Maps are a tool that can be used far beyond University Press Week. These innovative visualizations of your press's impact on the world are an effective way to show the value of a university press. Ideas and Instructions for Building Influence Maps >
